The Toruń Centre for Astronomy of the Nicolaus Copernicus University and the Czech ALMA Regional Center organize a joint workshop aimed to prepare the community of Polish and Czech astronomers to the upcoming ALMA Cycle 5 deadline expected on 20 April 2017. The workshop will take place on 3-4 April 2017 in Piwnice near Toruń, Poland, and on 6-7 April 2017 in Prague, Czech Republic. The workshop will cover an introduction to the ALMA observatory, its current capabilities and the science highlights, as well as the introduction to the ALMA procedures and tools. The main focus during the hands-on exercises will be the ALMA Observing Tool so that participants can start to prepare their own ALMA proposals with technical support from experts.
